Sessions at the Workshop form an integral part of the departments of engineering, especially mechanical, as this particular engineering is heavily involved in carrying out manufacturing activities that require the help of sophisticated equipment. This is done to help with research activities in the department as well as for the student training in workshop courses for the students throughout the institute in every semester. With the assistance of helpful and qualified support staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students are able to carry out the technical and foundation work for their B.Tech projects.
This is a centralized workshop with an aluminum rooftop and polymer sheets for protection as well as natural light to work with. This hosts Civil, Mechanical and Electrical laboratories. The mechanical labs are with machinery and fluid, the former one containing state of the art semi-automatic and fully automatic lathe machines, smithy shop, foundry shop, 50 ton UTM Machine, and working models of two stroke and four stroke engines.
The Electrical lab also contains the latest modular machinery and breadboards.
